Nicola Francesco Lopomo

Nicola Francesco Lopomo graduated in Biomedical Engineering and got his PhD in Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy), in 2003 and 2008, respectively. From 2004 to 2015 he was a research fellow at the “Laboratorio di Biomeccanica e Innovazione Tecnologica” and “Laboratorio di NanoBiotecnologie” (NaBi) of the Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli (Bologna, Italy), where he dealt with computer aided surgery, musculoskeletal biomechanics and nanobiotecnologies for orthopedic applications. From 2015 to 2024 he was Associate Professor in Bioengineering at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Brescia (Brescia, Italy), where he was mainly involved in the design, development and validation of digital enabling technologies for clinical biomechanics, neuro-muscular rehabilitation and occupational ergonomics. Since 2024 he has been Associate Professor in Bioengineering at the Department of Design of the Politecnico di Milano (Milano, Italy), where he is involved in the technology and design for healthcare research area.
Paolo Perego

Paolo Perego obtained his Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2008, followed by a PhD in Design in the same university in 2014. Since 2008, he has been working at the Design Department of the Politecnico di Milano, where he is currently a researcher. His research focuses on Human Machine Interface for health and well-being, particularly wearable systems, textile sensors, smart materials, and UX design. He is co-author of over 70 articles and contributions to international conferences. In 2012, he was a Visiting Ph.D at the DTI department of SUPSI (Lugano, Switzerland), where he was involved in research on human-computer interaction for people with disabilities. He is a member of EAI and has chaired the Mobihealth conference in 2016 and 2017. He is co-editor of three books on wearable devices and Guest Editor of several special issues on smart materials and wearable devices. He is a member of IEEE, GNB (National Group of Bioengineering), SDI (Italian Society of Design), and IDXBerlin (Interaction Design Berlin).
