Workshop proposals Notification deadline

Introduction

EAI HealthWear 2024 is pleased to invite proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with the conference, which will be held in Isparta, Turkey. The goal of the workshops is to provide additional venues for discussing novel ideas as well as recent results of research in progress.

We encourage you to contact us by email before the deadline with workshop ideas. We actively encourage both researchers and industry practitioners to submit workshop proposals.

Proposal Submision

Workshop proposals should be submitted in a maximum of 4 pages in PDF format, single-spaced.
Please email your workshop proposals to Workshop Chair – Deepak Gupta [email protected]

Proposal content

The workshop proposal should be organized as follows:

–  Workshop title.
– A short description of the workshop. Please also add an explanation on how the workshop complements, rather than duplicates, the topics of the main conference.
– Name, email address, and affiliation for workshop organizers and a brief description of their experience in organizing such events.
– Requested duration (half day or full day), with a motivation on the choice of this duration, and expected number of participants.
– Workshop format (virtual, in-person, or hybrid). Note that in-person workshops will require at least one organizer to attend;
– Description of workshop activities. Outline how the workshop will be organized and how the time will be spent. In particular, please sketch how you will engage participants to foster more interactivity and engagement during the workshop;
– History of prior workshops on this topic (if available).

Workshop selection

We aim to select a diverse set of workshops and avoid having multiple workshops on overlapping themes. Organisers of selected workshops will be asked to produce a Call for Papers to describe the workshop to potential participants and solicit submissions. In order to promote vivid discussions with more participants to the workshops, EAI will provide Workshop Organisers with one free registration to the Workshop for 10 papers and more submitted to their workshop.

The criteria for assessment will include:

– Relevance to conference vision/topics and attendees
– Potential to bring in participants to the conference from different audiences
– Overall quality of contribution
– Provides a hands-on, collaborative, and/or active learning environment for attendees

Evaluation criteria

– The ability of the topic to contribute to the continued development of the field of recommended systems.
– Level of complementarity of the topic to the main conference.
– A clear plan for attracting submissions, making the workshop itself productive, and disseminating results.
– Evidence that this plan will be successful.
– Experience of the organizers.

Workshop publication

Accepted and presented papers will be published alongside the main conference proceedings as a sub-section/chapter. Paper formats should, therefore, correspond to the templates of the publisher of the main conference.

Workshop chairs are invited to engage journals and further publication opportunities.
